As more and more properties in the town get converted to second homes and airbnb’s it is killing the community.
More second homes and airbnb’s means less homes for permanent residents, resulting in a dwindling population. A dwindling population means less people to support local services and businesses and so they disappear. Fewer local services makes it more difficult for permanent residents to stay in the village and so the problem gets worse.
Airbnb’s and second homes support a temporary seasonal economy that only benefits the few. Permanent homes support a year round economy that benefits the entire community.
Say no to more second homes and airbnb’s. Support returning homes to full time use.
